The Discover Dairy Adopt A Cow Program teaches kids in-depth knowledge about cows, dairy farming, and agriculture from various parts of the USA. If you can’t get out there to visit the cow you are sponsoring, this program mainly combines virtual learning and snail mailing educational materials, activity sheets, and pictures to you (see a sample here). Best of all, it is completely free to register and participate! They do accept donations if you would like to give back to the program, but it is not required to participate fully in the program. A cool little bonus worth mentioning is with a $35 donation (important: this special donation’s benefits can only be done with their Cow Kit order form, which you’ll have to request by email), they’ll send you a “Cow Kit” that includes a cow plushie, a classroom journal, a suggested lesson plan with state approved standards, and a packet full of activity ideas that coincides with the Adopt A Cow program.
