This is a short, and by no means exhaustive, summary of what I believe regarding the Christian faith (many scriptures to support these beliefs; I’ve only included a few):
1. The Bible is the complete work and the infallible Word of God given by divine inspiration and accuracy of The Holy Spirit, the record of God’s revelation of Himself to humanity. (2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:21)
2. I believe in the one living and true triune God (three co-equal persons in one perfect, self-sustaining, self-satisfying Holy God. I do NOT believe what Modalism teaches which is three separate manifestations of God all with their own personalities), perfect in wisdom, sovereignty, holiness, justice, mercy, and love — I believe that Modalism is heresy as it twists God’s character, does not give an accurate description of the nature of the triune God, and how He clearly reveals Himself in the Bible. (Isaiah 43:10, 44:6-8, 45:5,6; 1 Timothy 1:17; Psalm 86:15; Deuteronomy 32:3-4)
3. Salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone. I believe that what Christ did in His life (he lived a perfectly sinless and obedient life), death (he suffered and died on my behalf, taking on the full punishment I deserve) and resurrection (when Jesus rose from the dead, I was spiritually raised up with Him and given new life in Him) is the complete payment for my sins past, present, and future which saves me from God’s just wrath on the Day of Judgement. (Ephesians2:8-10).
4. The Church is the body of which Christ is the head and all who believe in Him are adopted members of that same family/household with the saints of Old (Matthew 28:18-20; Ephesians 1:22-23; Ephesians 2, Romans 12:4-5).
5. I believe that Christians, individually and collectively, are salt and light in society. Ultimately to hold people, governments and nations accountable to God’s word (Matthew 5:13-16,28:18-20). Nevertheless, my ultimate purpose in society is to share The Gospel and point others to Christ in everything that I do (Luke 3:15-22, Luke 14:23, 2 Timothy 4:2, Mark 16:15, Matthew 28:19, Colossians 4:4-6, Jude 1:23, Romans 1:16-17).
6. Jesus is ruling and reigning now and at the appointed time Jesus will return for final judgement of the living and the dead. (Psalm 110:1; Daniel 2:44, 7:13,14; Isaiah 9:7; Matthew 12:28; Hebrews 12:28; Revelation 11:15).
7. With regard to God’s design of men and women, I agree with all the points with supporting scriptures listed by The Council of Biblical Manhood and Womanhood. I am biblical, I believe that church governance is important, and I do hold complementarian views on marriage. However, I am very much against using scripture, church governance, or concepts of complementarianism to be wielded as a weapon of dominance and control over anyone — that goes against God’s design just as much as anything else the Bible says God hates. Above all, I am a follower of Jesus Christ and a student of His Living Word, The Holy Bible. I do associate myself with Orthodox Reformed Theology; its lineage can be traced back to the likes of Martin Luther, Charles Spurgeon, J.C. Ryle, John Calvin, and many more faithful men of God, as well as the Puritans, and all the way back to the early church fathers such as Augustine, Ireneus, Ignatius and Polycarp (disciple of the Apostle John). Although I do not associate with any single denomination, I do ascribe to the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith as being the closest statements to my core beliefs, but I also ascribe to the Westminster Confession, the Apostles’ Creed and the Nicene Creed.
