Sola Gratia Life In Homemaking

The Proverbs 31 Woman is the model for what godly women aspire to be in her daily life. In the Book of Ruth the same word “eshet hayil”, meaning excellent woman of nobility, virtue, and godliness, is used in the description of The Proverbs 31 Woman (read more about this in The Book of Ruth Study Guide here). If we look at the Bible’s description of her, one of the traits is being productive for her household and finds joy in caring for her home and family. I hope the articles in this little corner of The Sola Gratia Life helpful in your daily living out the example set forth by Ruth and ultimately by our Kinsman Redeemer, Jesus.

Caring For His Temple (Coming soon!)

Your body is God’s temple. It is important to nourish your body inside and out, starting with The Word first and foremost. We are to offer up our bodies as a living sacrifice, meaning we are to die to our flesh and abide in Christ so that our lives glorify Him as we become evermore conformed to Him throughout our lifetime. Not that God needs us at ‘our best’ but God cares for us and we are called to steward what He has given us well, leaning on Him for the source of all strength, fulfillment, and wisdom. Until we get our glorified bodies in Heaven, we are still earthly creatures that need nutritious food, exercise, good hygiene, and have healthy muscle, tissue, organs, skin and hair, etc. God built us that way. As best as we can with our given circumstances, whether we are at optimal health or we are suffering in our health, we ought to take care of our bodies unto The Lord, stewarding His temple well for His glory. “Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.” (1 Cor. 6:19-20)
