Meet Shauna Bremenkamp

If you’re anything like me, you love God and you take His Word seriously. That quiet time spent reading the Scriptures, praying and worshipping is precious. But if you are also like me, you have had trouble finding encouragement and resources rooted in sound doctrine that is diligent in looking through the lens of The Gospel and who God says He is within the entire context of The Bible.

That’s why The Sola Gratia Life is here.

“Sola Gratia”, Latin for “By Grace Alone”, one of the Five Solas of Reformed theology, is a phrase that sits very dearly in my heart. God has showered me with His mercy in all of the ebbs and flows of life. In all the victories, sufferings and everything in between I see more of His glory being displayed in and through my life – and it is “By Grace Alone”. It is my privilege to share with you the lessons God so graciously taught me and is very much still teaching me. The Sola Gratia Life is dedicated to providing you with devotionals and Bible Study tools (both original and curated) that would help you grow in The Lord propelled by theology that exalts Christ above all and is faithful to the sovereignty of God and the authority of Scripture. You will also find on this site a variety of materials related to creating and keeping a healthy home life such as recipes, cleaning & organization tips, DIY home decor, marriage articles, and more.

I have had over 15 years of experience serving The Lord in a variety of ministries from helping first responders and combat soldiers cope with PTSD to homeless ministry, as well as, working for ministries that help impoverished families around the world develop and maintain sustainable agriculture, clean water systems, schools and housing while sharing The Gospel. Now, God has called me to women’s and children’s ministry. But I think the authenticity and credibility of what I will share with you in my blog comes from this fact: I am a fellow sinner redeemed by the spotless Lamb of God. I am saved from His wrath and now on an ever-progressing, sometimes messy path of holiness. Time and again, The Lord has shown His grace to me when I don’t deserve it and so I feel called to share the nourishment, refreshment, and conviction that God is illuminating to me through His Word and through fellowship with Him in prayer and a life of worship. As I’m learning and being pruned, I hope we can vicariously walk together and grow in the grace and knowledge of our Savior Jesus Christ.

Bio:

Shauna Bremenkamp was born in June 1984 in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. Her parents are originally from Hong Kong, but travelled to Spain for vacation. They loved it so much they lived there for twelve years and had Shauna there. At age five, Shauna and her parents moved to Palm Beach, Florida where she would remain until February 2022 when she married her husband, Eric. They met through doing ministry together online and after their Florida wedding, Mrs. Bremenkamp moved to Colorado with her Golden Retriever-Labrador to be with her husband who runs an established roofing and general contracting company; he also teaches God’s Word and shepherds residents who live in a Men’s halfway house for recovering addicts, on a volunteer basis, praise The Lord). The Bremenkamps enjoy serving The Lord with their church family. Shauna has worked in many fields, from working at her dad’s restaurant to Marketing & Public Speaking to Investigating abuses and crimes towards persons with Special Needs on behalf of the Florida State government. Since her wedding engagement, Shauna has been in the childcare field and is currently a nanny to a little girl. The Bremenkamps are hoping to be first-time parents soon, Lord willing, at which time Shauna will be a full-time wife and mama at home (update: daughter Grace was born June 17, 2024 so now Shauna is a full-time homemaker and will be a full-time homeschooler!). The Bremenkamps live in Colorado but live in Florida semi-seasonally. From the turquoise ocean and golden beach to the majestic mountains, Shauna’s adventure has taught her many things about the faithfulness of God. Learn more about her story and read her testimony in an upcoming blog post. Sign up for our newsletter to get notified when it drops!
