2024 List of Baby Stuff For Free (or very low-cost)

Ok, who doesn’t love getting free stuff, particularly if you are a parent… especially if you are a new parent?! Being 5 months pregnant with our first child and wanting to get better at being frugal to take some financial pressure off of my hard-working husband, I was on a mission to procure as many “baby boxes” as I can. After many countless hours of research and trial, I have put together an extensive list of baby stuff that is either completely free, very low cost, or only requires the cost of shipping to receive. Thus far, for my baby’s first year I have no need to buy bottles, breastmilk storage bags, breastpump, nursing pads, pacifiers, nursing & baby carrier cover, diaper rash cream, baby wipes, or newborn diapers (keep in mind I’m cloth diapering though) thanks to the freebies I received! Many of those things I don’t have to replenish beyond the first year because of the amount sent to me! I hope that you will take the time to get these things for your baby as well. It saves you so much money initially to have these baby essentials on hand, you get great discounts to replenish or add onto the items once you go through the samples, and it is super fun to get showered with gifts from companies that hope to gain your return business!

Important to consider before you read my list…

  • This list will be updated as I find more baby freebies. (Last Updated: 3/7/2024)
  • All offers in the list below are only available in the United States and its territories unless otherwise noted
  • Be sure you read the guidelines of each company’s policies regarding their offers so you know what to expect
  • All specific items that I received are single full-sized items unless noted. If received items are little sample packettes, mini tubes, etc. it will be noted as “Sample”.
  • The specific items and value of rewards mentioned in this list are not guaranteed as their inventory changes periodically and while supplies last. However, you can bet the items you do get will be great quality, great value, and will be very useful!

Amazon

I think just about every expecting momma knows about this freebie, but it is worth mentioning to emphasize how helpful getting the Amazon Registry Box is in case you are not too motivated to claim this reward. All you have to do is be an Amazon Prime member, create an Amazon baby registry, and add at least 10 items to the registry. Unlike another baby registry reward offer, Babylist, the minimum registry item purchase to claim your Amazon registry reward is only $10 (it used to be $30 from what I understand). Babylist requires a $30 minimum purchase to claim their registry reward.

What I received:

  • Dr. Brown’s Anti-Colic Baby Bottle 4 oz.
  • Philips Avent 4 oz. Baby Bottle
  • Amazing Baby Newborn Muslin Swaddle – Animal Print
  • Lansinoh Nursing Pads (2 count) and Breastmilk Storage Bags (2 count)
  • Itzy Ritzy Sweetie Soother Pacificers (2 count)
  • Carter’s Simple Joys Bodysuit/Onesie Size 3-6 months – Animal Print
  • Nanobébé Hospital Go-Bag Kit includes Newborn Pacifier, Nursing Pads (2 count), Breastmilk Storage Bags (3 count)
  • Sample: Palmer’s Skin Therapy Oil
  • Sample: Palmer’s Massage Lotion for Stretch Marks
  • Sample: Traditional Medicinals Organic Tea – Chamomile & Lavender (2 count)
  • Sample: Dreft Hypoallergenic Laundry Detergent for Newborn

Hey, Milestone (formerly Noobie Box)

This has become one of my top 3 favorite baby freebies (Your Baby Club and Amazon being my other two favorites). Hey, Milestone lovingly packs very high quality, trusted products into a pretty good sized box that is 10.5″ wide, 9.5″ long, and 3.5″ deep. Within the sample box are full-sized and trial-sized products from every category that you would need to get ready for a newborn from feeding, nursing, diapering, travel, hygiene, and even snacks for Momma to promote milk flow. Hey, Milestone also gifts you with samples of various healthy snacks for toddlers and parents called the Family Nutrition box – you just have to sign up for that freebie separately. Both free sample boxes are free with the price of shipping and handling which is $12.95. Once you get either the Newborn sample box or the Family Nutrition box, you qualify to subscribe to their Milestone Mom Club. For roughly $8.75 per shipment (price of membership includes shipping and handling of each shipment) Hey, Milestone will send you more high quality sample boxes throughout your baby’s first year. Go to their website and onto their “Meet Our Partners” page – these are the brands that you may see in your baby box – some offer additional discounts on this page, so be sure to check it out!

What I received:

  • Herobility Baby Bottle with Double Anti-Colic Feature 5 oz.
  • Dr. Brown’s Anti-Colic Baby Bottle 4 oz.
  • Dr. Brown’s Happy Paci Silicone Pacifier
  • Boudreax’s Butt Paste Diaper Rash Prevention Ointment (4 oz. tube)
  • Lansinoh Nursing Pads (2 count) and Breastmilk Storage Bags (2 count)
  • Bessie’s Best Lactation Cookie – Oatmeal Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip
  • Stork & Hen Pink Himalayan Bath Salts

*When you sign up for your box, I receive a small “influencer” commission from Hey, Milestone for your order at no additional charge to you. Any monetary compensations received either through commissions like these or purchase of items from The Sola Gratia Online Store help to keep our website going.

Rakuten

*When you start your account and use the rewards program to make your purchases, I receive a small “influencer” commission from Rakuten at no additional cost to you. Any monetary compensations received either through commissions like these or purchase of items from The Sola Gratia Online Store help to keep our website going.

Babylist

Babylist is a registry platform that gives a comprehensive, streamlined experience for everything gift registries. The vendors featured on its shopping browser are more of the high-end variety, so it makes sense that the minimum registry purchase to receive a reward is $30 (which is 20 bucks more than what Amazon requires for their registry reward). What I personally have done is have my main registry elsewhere, and listed Babylist as a secondary registry with far less items – just enough to add up to $30. My main registry has my most needed items and my secondary registry has items that are more along the lines of nice-to-haves (like books, extra baby-proofing items for the house, and frilly pink outfits for my baby girl). Once you meet the minimum requirement with your registry, Babylist sends you an email to letting you know that you are able to claim your free baby box. I will update with what I received later.

Target

As a corporation, Target has gone through some ups and downs recently. One thing that has been consistent, however, is their offer to expecting parents via their baby registry reward. The Target Baby Welcome Kit offers two ways to obtain their registry reward. After you create your baby registry, you can get a welcome kit in one of two ways. First option is to add at least 10 unique items to your registry and have had someone or yourself purchase $35 worth of merchandise from your registry. What I chose to go with is to add 10 unique items to my registry, obtain my welcome kit barcode, call ahead to my local store to see if they have baby welcome kits available (supplies are limited at each store nationwide), and physically go to the store to pick up the goodies bag. My local store seems to always run out whenever I check, so I’ll update with what I received later.

Millie Moon

If you are considering Target as a baby freebie source you have to also think about Millie Moon, a luxury diaper company that is exclusively found at Target stores. They boast the softest, most comfortable diapers on the market… and they are correct in advertising themselves as such. When I got my Millie Moon diaper sample it exceeded expectations at first touch. Even though we are cloth diapering, it will be nice to have a small supply of disposibles to have on hand for the occassional day trip out of town where cloth diapering would be very inconvenient. Millie Moon lets you choose one size of diapers to sample, and they send you two diapers absolutely free. I chose the size 1 diapers for newborn and when I received them the most notable thing about them was how incredibly soft yet durable they were. If I weren’t mostly cloth diapering I would be making Millie Moon my go-to diaper source just for that reason alone. (Update: as of January 25, 2024 Millie Moon has temporarily closed their freebie program. Follow them on social media @mymilliemoon to find out when they re-open their freebies)

Dyper

This company has been around since 2014 but remained relatively unknown in the baby market until 2020. They sell a wide variety of diapering products that range from individual packs of diapers, monthly subscription boxes, soothing balms, and even cloth diapers. As a certified B Corp, their company model is based on offering premium diapers that use completely plant-based materials, safe manufacturing practices, disposal practices that are better for the environment, and operations that emphasize integrity, transparency, great treatment of employees, and more. At $18 per pack of 34 newborn diapers, they are way above the average pack of diapers (Huggies and Pampers are only $8-9 for around 32 newborn diapers) but they are the better buy overall if you want a product made without minimal to no chemicals, is tough with absorption and odor-control, sold by an altrusitic company that aims to better the world for the next generation through the way they do business. And if you know of my experience with heading up a first responder and combat soldier ministry years ago, I also love that they honor the military, law enforcement, and first responders by partnering with GovX to give 10% off all their products to those that have the appropriate ID. Try their sample pack of 3 premium charcoal enhanced diapers with this code SUB30 to turn a $5 sample pack to a $3.50 sample pack with free shipping! After you receive your sample they also send you a $5 rebate to apply to your next purchase. If you combine that with the $20 off coupon you get by signing up for their email list, you essentially have more than enough to get a free full sized pack of diapers with tax and shipping mostly covered. I was really impressed with the quality of the sample diapers I received and once our baby girl is a little bigger and we get a feel for how many disposable diapers we go through when we’re out and about with her I will be taking advantage of their rebate and discount offer.

The Honest Company

The Honest Company has skyrocketed in popularity thanks to CEO actress Jessica Alba, but it is much deserved. Their luxurious, earth and health conscious products that particularly pays close attention to catering to skin sensitivity spans through all categories including baby care, cosmetics, etc. At $13 for a pack of 32 newborn diapers and $85 plus for their diaper and wipes monthly subscription boxes they are one of the more pricey options but you really get what you pay for. Thankfully, The Honest Company has a diaper and wipes trial kit for only $15 (hoping to get you to go with their subscription plan with a $20 coupon towards membership ). Only 15 bucks for a full pack of premium diapers and full pack of premium wipes? Yes please! I jumped on that deal immediately.

What I received:

  • Honest Clean Conscious Diapers 35 pack for newborn – Rose Blossoms print
  • Honest Clean Conscious Wipes 60 pack

Huggies (Canada Only)

This is the brand that has been providing diapering solutions for a multitude of generations, including myself when I was a baby. For residents of Canada, Huggies offers a free box of newborn diapers and wipes just for you! Nothing for us in the United States… yet. Will update if something becomes available.

Babies R’ Us (Canada Only)

Another freebie that you can only get in Canada is when you create a Babies R’ Us gift registry and go to a local store to get your free welcome baby bag. All Babies R’ Us stores are closed here in the United States, but yay for Canada mommas!

Tiny Tots Diaper Service (San Francisco Bay Area Only)

Did you know that diapers are the #1 item that takes up space at our country’s landfills? For those of you who live in the San Francisco Bay Area in California, there is a free compostable diaper sample available to you from Tiny Tots, a diaper delivery and disposal service that safely turns them into dirt. There is also an option to gift their diapering service to expecting parents (nudging the grandparents and close relatives).

Pampers

With Pampers being around as long as they have, they are probably the most widely known “freebie” out there, but to be frank, one of the most underwhelming offers for thrifty mommas. Still, it is worth mentioning what they offer because truly every little bit helps right? The Pampers Club program requires a small fee to join for the year, about $34, and with membership you get regular mailings of coupons, samples, contests to participate in, full sized products that you can redeem with points you earn from buying their products, and more. The best thing about this program, if you are among the many parents that are going through diapers like crazy, is that you can submit proof of purchases of Pampers productsfor points that you can redeem for super helpful rewards. Currently, you can also get a free $10 coupon for Pampers diapers. Since I will be largely cloth diapering, I have no need to join the Pampers Club, but I think this could be a good option for mommas that will be going through disposables frequently as long as you are dedicated to submitting your points and responding to rebates and other member exclusive offers to reap the benefits of being a member. Just go to the below link and either click on the offer near the Pampers Club promo or select the second option in the page’s navigation bar.

Kiinde

This is a company that offers many feeding options with state of the art technology to optimize safety and comfort of both Baby and Momma. With this freebie, you get a starter kit of their convenient pump-to-feed system which allows you to pump directly into a pouch (pump not included), and feed directly from the pouch to your baby with no need to transfer milk which means no loss of that liquid gold and no exposure to germs. You can pump, store, organize, warm and feed all with one pouch and bottle using any nipple on the market. Even if you are like me and plan to be a stay-at-home momma that exclusively breastfeeds, bottles like these are great to have at the ready for daddy feedings to give you a break (and so Baby and Daddy can bond too). The system’s starter kit is free with only $9.99 for shipping.

What I received:

  • 1 Twist breast milk storage pouch with cap
  • 2 direct-pump adapters (Medela, Ameda, Evenflo)
  • 2 direct-pump adapters (Spectra, Avent)
  • 1 squeeze natural feeding bottle
  • 1 slow-flow Active Latch nipple with case

Aeroflow Breastpumps

Did you know that there is a no-cost-to-you service that helps you obtain a free breastmilk pump through your insurance? The brands you can choose from are reliable too! You can either get Motif, Spectra, Medela (what I am receiving), Lansinoh, Elvie, Philips, and more. All you have to do is go to the link below and fill out the simple form (have your insurance card and doctor information ready) to see if you qualify. If so, follow the prompts to complete your application, wait for Aeroflow to contact your insurance to get them to make the benefit available to you; Aeroflow will also contact your medical provider to get a prescription for the pump. Once that is completed, they will send you a notification that you are good to go and all you have to do from that point on is wait for a shipping confirmation with your tracking number. After I got the notification that Aeroflow received my Rx for my hands-free breastmilk pump, it was suggested that after I receive my shipping confirmation it could take up to 10 business days for it to arrive but give it at a few weeks because it takes some time for everything to process, before they send you a shipping confirmation, once Aeroflow receives the Rx. Even so, for a freebie that is not a baby box, this is my favorite offer… have you seen how expensive those things are in retail?!

What I received:

  • Medela Maxflow Pump In Style Hands Free Breastmilk Pump System which includes the power pack, two “cups”, two flanges, and flow tube that plugs into the power pack which you can attach to one or both cups.
  • Motif Medical Grade BPA-free Leak-free Freezer-safe Breastmilk Storage Bags 8 oz. pack of 100 (3 count aka 300 total bags!)

Similac and Enfamil

Both of these respective companies are known for their nutritious and affordable baby formula cannisters. Although there are definitely an array of more nutritiously complex (aka fancy) formula brands out there, Similac as well as Enfamil fit the bill with being comprehensive enough for your baby especially if you are on a strict budget and for whatever reason are not able to breastfeed or doing a combination of breastmilk and formula. I personally will not be using formula, so I did not pursue this these samples but these are both great low-cost options for feeding your infant and offer a great program to receive free samples, coupons, health guides and more.

Daily Goodie Box

In theory, this is a great freebie idea – you sign up for theirs and their affiliates’ mailing list, you complete your profile for marketing purposes, you check your email and their social media page for updates on when you can ‘attempt’ to receive a sample box of snacks, baby items, skincare products and more all at no cost to you, never having to input credit card information, none of that. All you have to do is if they select you to receive a box, you have to answer some questions to provide feedback to the sample vendors about their products that you tried. Simple enough, but it is immensely time consuming and you are not even guaranteed a box. I did, however, receive a $5 digital gift card to Amazon but it just was not worth all the effort and time. If you like doing surveys and are diligent with checking on multiple links for a chance at some kind of reward then have at it, the link to get started is below. As for me, I will take a hard pass.

Noodle & Boo

This company is created by a Momma who has children with highly sensitive skin and eczema who wanted luxurious skincare, laundry care, and other products that are effective but gentle on delicate skin. They are a lesser known yet trusted brand that is featured as a vendor on sites like Babylist, Target, and BuyBuyBaby (yes, they have made a comeback since their bankruptcy filing and no they are no longer giving welcome bags, at least not yet). You can get two sample packs for free, just pay $6.95 for shipping. The first pack comes with diaper rash cream and the second pack comes with hair & body wash and lotion for newborn as well as elasticity oil for Momma. This freebie is pending to be received – will update later.

Your Baby Club

Whoah Momma! This baby box has the motherload when it comes to the amount and quality of items and the sheer size of the box. At just over 14″ wide, 12.5″ long, and a little over 5″ deep, I felt like a little kid that had a Christmas present sent to me by my grandparents. Best of all, this huge box of full sized and sample goodies is free, just pay $19.99 for shipping! I had mine shipped for free with a limited time code for being an “influencer” but it has since expired. However, if I were able to get this box again, I would hands down pay the 20 bucks for shipping considering that amount pays for just one big item or two small items in this particular baby box.

What I received:

  • Welcome sheet with newborn item checklist and QR code for building a personalized experience with discounts, opportunities to get more free samples, week-by-week development on your pregnancy and baby’s development, and more.
  • Nanobébé Hospital Go-Bag Kit includes Newborn Pacifier, Nursing Pads (2 count), Breastmilk Storage Bags (3 count)
  • Dyper Charcoal Enchanced Baby Wipes pack of 56 wipes
  • Lansinoh Nursing Pads (2 count) and Breastmilk Storage Bags (2 count)
  • Dr. Brown’s Anti-Colic Baby Bottle 4 oz
  • (Unknown Brand) Cooling Technology Cozy Nursing & Stroller Privacy Cover – Dalmation print
  • (Unknown Brand) Dry Bag with Stroller Clip – Nordic Geometric Print
  • Boudreax’s Butt Paste Diaper Rash Treatment & Prevention Ointment (1.75 oz. tube)
  • Jack N’ Jill Hand Sanitizer (about 1 oz. squeeze bottle) (3 count)
  • Sample: Jack N’ Jill Natural Baby Gum & Tooth Wipe
  • Sample: Jack N’ Jill Natural Certified Toothpaste – Strawberry for ages 6+ months
  • Sample: Mini Bloom Knots Be Gone Hair Detangling Treatment
  • Sample: Mini Bloom Fresh N’ Clean 2-in-1 Hair & Body Wash
  • Sample: Bella B Bee Gone Cradle Cap Baby Shampoo
  • Sample: Bella B Nipple Nurture Butter for Breastfeeding Moms (2 count)

Nanobébé

There are a couple of freebies on this list that have included the Nanobébé Hospital Go-Bag Kit in their baby boxes. I am pleased to say that Nanobébé also has their own freebie where they send you one of their Hospital Go-Bag Kits at completely no cost, not even shipping! It comes with a pacifier, two nursing pads, and three 4 oz. breastmilk storage bags. Thank you for being so generous, Nanobébé!

You can also get the Nanobébé Mystery Box with items valued over $100 for half the price. My husband was not keen on spending 50 bucks on a mystery box though. Fortunately, you have the option of adding it to your BabyList registry so someone may choose to gift it to you! To purchase your Nanobébé Mystery Box or add it directly to your BabyList registry go HERE.

Eddy Bella

Is a new small business based in Australia that sells baby clothes, accessories, and outfits for moms as well. For a limited time, they are oddering cute and soft muslin swaddles that has multi uses — burp cloth, nursing cover and of course, a cozy baby swaddle! They have dozens of patterns in their store, but the promotion allows you to choose between adorable four patterns. They normally cost just over 12 dollars, but with their promotion they will send one to you for free; they even cover the cost of shipping! (as of 2/12/2024 this promotion is no longer available)

Bamboo Nature USA

This seems to be a company headquartered in the UK, but has an office here in the United States. They specialize in organic products for babies including diapers, skincare, and more. The diaper samples I received were incredibly soft. I would say they are not quite as soft as Millie Moon, but the Bamboo Nature diaper softness is definitely at equal level as Honest and Coterie diapers. Although Bamboo Nature does not explicitly advertise an offer of free samples on their website, if you contact their office via phone or email someone will actually help you obtain some kind of sample or freebie of their products. If email does not get a response then try calling their customer service, Sales, or Marketing team via phone. Yes, it requires a little bit of work but hey, free stuff from a very warm and friendly company!

What I received:

  • Bamboo-cotton blend diaper 2-pack sample, size 1 (4-9 lbs)
  • Bamboo-cotton blend diaper 2-pack sample, size 2 (7-13 lbs)

Walmart

Last but certainly not least on the list is the Walmart Welcome Baby Box. From what I have seen from other mommas that have received this freebie, its contents parallels the Amazon and Target welcome kits as far as size of the kit, quality, quantity, and types of items included, and plenty of small samples and coupons from well-known brands. The only downside is that Walmart stores are extremely popular, therefore, Walmart Welcome Baby Boxes are wildly popular and they become out of stock almost as soon as inventory becomes available. It’s super easy and fast to sign up, plus, there is no shipping cost to pay and no minimum purchase requirement from your registry; that really makes the welcome kits shiny in the eyes of expecting parents and apt to disappear quickly. Since beginning of December of 2023 I kept checking just about everyday for the claim option to appear on my Walmart baby registry and each time it will show up as “out of stock”. And yet, I would soon come across a fellow blogger post something about their Walmart Welcome Baby Box that they received around the same time period as when I was searching. This would keep happening even to this day. Maybe if I keep at it, someday I will be one of the fortunate ladies to finally score one of this highly sought after freebie… like catching a rare Pokémon. A gal could only dream.
