God In The Details Of Our Lives

What is it about worrying that has our heads spinning? Is it being too comfortable with discomfort? Is it giving way to intrusive thoughts rather than taking them captive and holding them up to the truth of scripture? A moment of forgetfulness in trusting God? What ever is going on in your heart that is fueling your worried state of mind, I hope that you will find encouragement as I share what God had done recently to remind me that He is in the little details of all our big and small circumstances.

Our house hunting journey began a few weeks ago but in the months prior, while I was trying to patiently wait for my husband Eric and our realtor Jeff to decide the optimal time for us to start shopping, I was worried. Our apartment lease is up in April this year and we had already wrote the property manager about our intent of not renewing the rental. Whenever I would check-in with Eric he would just tell me that he is waiting for Jeff, who has been in the business for over thirty years, to give us the greenlight to even start applying for a mortgage. Finally, two short months before the completion of our rental agreement, Jeff instructs us to go ahead and get the ball rolling. At this point, I am thinking back to all the horror stories that friends would tell me of their home buying experience; how long and grueling each step of the process was. It took many of friends several months to actually find a house they like in their price range and close on the house. Along the way, they were met with much frustration as counter offers trump their bids, inspections render a cosmetically beautiful home pretty much unlivable, and other such disappointments.
